Ever heard of this quote? :

“The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. … I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”

Well, I haven't, until I read it on this blog post, Stephanie, from Somewhat Simple is doing a blog swap and wrote the blog entry that I found that quote on.

This quote made me cry, because it is so true, and it is what I do. My 3 girls are ages 8, 5 & 3 and time is flying by, it seems like just yesterday I had a 5, 2 & 8 month old. I don't live in the moment enough. Or I am to busy trying to keep my house clean, or have meals cooked on time that I don't pay attention to the little things....and before you know it the little things will be grown up and moved away. I really wish I could keep all 3 of my girls at the very age they are right now...or atleast slow time way down so it drags on ...when they were babies, I always felt I couldn't wait until they were a little older, so it would be easier, when they could tell me what they wanted or even get it themselves.... people use to tell me how fast they would grow up, but when you are doing 3 - 4 feedings a night it does not seem like it goes fast enough....but it does and POOF they are 8, 5 & 3.

I am very lucky, that I have a career that I can be both home with my kids and working ( out of the home ). As I have said in previous posts, I am School Bus Driver, and I LOVE my job. So I am home every weekday from 9am -2pm, and then home agin in time to make supper! I am home every holiday, my kids are, every PD day, etc.

From now on I am going to slow down and pay more attention to the little things....15 years from now, neither me or my girls are going to remember how clean the house was on such and such day, but we will remember what we did together, playing, laughing, making memories.

I am so very glad that Stephanie did that blog entry, and that I came across it. That I can change it so that it will not be one of my regrets.

She also did a tutorial on how to make this

(I took the pics this summer, my 3 little sets of tootsies)

a nice little reminder, that I am going to print out and frame, and look at everyday, especially those hectic days, that I am so used to saying to the girls  " Just go play, Mommy is busy".

Rainy Day Blues

Today is one of those days, that I don't feel like doing anything, except curled up on the couch with a blanket, a steaming cup of coffee, and my laptop. Listening to my rainy day blues playlist...yes I have a playlist for rainy days.... I tried to save my playlist in the post, but it wouldn't let me for some reason, and I know nothing about html code...so I changed my main playlist to my rainy day playlist.
 The songs on it are
Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen ( From Jerry MaGuire...love it)
Don't Stop Believing -Journey ( If you watch the show Glee, you would have seen this song performed )
Alone - Heart ( Another song performed on Glee, I knew the song before  Glee made me fall in love with it)
Halo - Bethany Joy Lentz ( That's Haley James Scott from One Tree Hill, I love her on OTH and her music)

There is a buch of other songs, so feel free to go and  take a look. It is at the bottom of the page!

This picture sums up exactly how I feel today.....

I found this picture here

I love rainy days, there is just something refreshing, and comforting about them, and the darker the better. I have always felt this way, ever since I can remember. Is this normal? or does anyone else feel like this?

I also like to watch movies on rainy days, here are a few of my favorite rainy day movies, in no particular order

Jerry MaGuire
Sleepless in Seatle
Girls Just want to have fun
The Wedding Date

Do any of you have favorite rainy day activities?

We had a really nice visit from Blaine's parents, the last 4 days.
His parents live in Newfoundland, but his father works in Ontario all summer, and his mother flies up to Ontario (to visit their other son Stephen, his wife Maxine, and daughter Sherry)and they drive back together. They always stop in for a couple days to visit us, this is the first time they have visited us in PEI. Last year this time we were still living in Nova Scotia. This also was Blaine's dads first time on PEI.

The kids loved having their Nanny & Poppy Scanlon here. My parents live here, in the same town, so we see them everyday, it was a treat to have the other set of grandparents here.

River & Kiki giving Poppy Scanlon big hugs...

This is pretty much what all 3 girls did the whole time Nanny & Poppy Scanlon was here...LOL

We were sad to see them go, but we are planning a trip to Newfoundland this summer, so we won't have to wait a whole year to see them again!

Happy Halloween!!!!

We had a beautiful sunny day for Halloween this year, which was nice, usually its pretty chilly and we have to bundle the kids up under their costumes. This year they just had a layer of clothes underneath.

Raven was a genie, River and Kiki baby were both black cats!

River, tail in hand....lol

My baby sis and her bff Molly or should I say Luigi...lol

The beautiful old women in this picture is my mom....she even hobbled around all night...lol

We only got 7 trick or treaters at our house, when we lived in Shearwater, it was nothing to see 300-400!!! So needless to say, there is LOTS of treats left over....lol

Ballet & Hockey!

Last weekend was our first of many busy saturdays! We put all 3 girls (Raven, River & Kiki)  in Hockey, and the baby ( 3year old Kiki) in Ballet. All three girls have hockey practice on saturday's and  Kiki has ballet Saturday morning. So far the girls LOVE hockey, and Kiki is loving ballet also.

I am the oldest of 5 girls, and all 5 of us played hockey growing up and 3 of my sisters still play. ( I planned on getting back into it this winter, but it was so expensive getting the girls ready to play, that I will sit out one more year and play next year)

This is just one of the many ways life has changed for the better since moving to PEI! It will be a year in Janurary since we moved here and life just keeps getting better and better!

Here are a few pics from hockey & Ballet last saturday!

Raven had hockey again on monday, and River & Kiki had it again tuesday, and already there was an improvement in their skating. It won't be long and they will be flying around the ice!

Another baby photoshoot.....different baby!

My cousin Jodi and her brand new baby boy Kaiden came out for a visit the other day and while they were here I took some pics for her. I am happy with how they turned out and she is too. Here are a few of my favorite ones!
